Proposed Dual Tax Rate is Defeated in Town of Southborough

Corridor Nine and the Town of Southborough are celebrating a recent triumph on behalf of business. Corridor Nine is a strong advocate for maintaining a single tax rate for the core towns we serve. A single tax rate promotes a welcoming climate for new business growth, job creation, and existing business expansion.

The Town of Southborough held their annual town meeting on April 17th and there was an article proposed to support implementation of a dual property tax rate. Prior to the town meeting, Corridor Nine and the Southborough Economic Development Team quickly jumped into action and organized a postcard campaign informing Southborough businesses about the proposed warrant article. Due to this powerful marketing campaign, approx. 100 businesses rallied together at the town meeting in support of maintaining a single tax rate. I am thrilled to announce that the warrant article was defeated and there was a majority vote of support to maintain a single tax rate. Thank you to our Southborough Economic Development team leaders Chris Robbins and Dave McKay, and our local businesses for responding to our call of action and advocating for a single tax rate at the town meeting.

HYPE9 Receives "Outstanding Volunteer Group of the Year" Award

On April 30th, HYPE9 is being recognized as the Volunteer Group of the Year by the Community Harvest Project in North Grafton for their work to build a healthier community.

The Community Harvest Project is a nonprofit, volunteer farming organization. They are one of the few sources of fresh vegetables for the Worcester County Food Bank (WCFB). 100% of the vegetables that they grow are donated to hunger relief in central Massachusetts through the Worcester County Food Bank. Since 2009, HYPE9 members have been volunteering their time at the farm to harvest and plant vegetables. Corridor Nine is proud of the community service work being accomplished by our young professionals group and we congratulate our HYPE9 members on receiving this recognition award.
